Description
Spot-On Dual Cure Emulsion is a multi-purpose Diazo emulsion with exceptional resistance to Solvent, UV and Water-Based Ink systems making it an ideal choice for Graphic Applications or Solvent Based Nylon Inks. This emulsion gives excellent definition on final development maintaining sharp edge, high resolution on finer meshes for half-tones and less saw-tooth on coarse mesh types.
Sensitizing should be done by filling the Diazo powder container to approx. 50% volume with water, replacing the lid and thoroughly shaking the contents to fully disperse the powder. For a thinner emulsion on finer meshes an additional 50% – 60% of water in the bottle can be added. Note that this is not advisable on coarser meshes and will decrease set exposure times. Note: The diazo sensitizer is acidic and skin contact should be avoided. This can be washed off with lots of water. Sensitiser can cause staining of the skin and will fade over a few hours.
To prepare screens for coating they should be reclaimed and degreased either using a degreaser of a stain remover such as Easiway 701 – New screens should always be rinsed and degreased prior to use and it is advisable to use our Mesh Preparation on first use.
Coated Screens should be dried in a horizontal position in a dust free light safe environment with heated air-flow at around 35°C – 40°C in a ventilated area with print side facing down.
To develop the image post exposure, best practice is to thoroughly wet the screen on both sides concentrate on the whole screen (not only the image area) and leave to stand for a minute or two – do not allow the screen to start drying. Rinse the screen with water pressure, a hose gun is best but take care if using a jet wash as this can damage the image area on development.
When fully developed excess water can be squeegeed off and screen can be dried on a screen rack, drying cabinet, or even in the sunlight.
